Subject: cover or paint fuse and tail
I just finished my fourth Bug. I had been using just water based poly mixed with food color, but I found that mixing the food color with 99% isopropyl alcohol and painting it on first and then adding the poly after works much better. You can add many cotes of alcohol/food color to get the color as dark as you want and add almost no weight. Then add a couple of thin poly cotes. The only bad thing about this method is no color will be absorbed any where the wood has been soaked with CA. My next bug fuse and tail will be coverd. Its more work but its hard to make paint or die look as good as covering without adding alot of weight.
