I glassed my fuse with .075 FG cloth(two layers). I don't have a
scale but it was defiantly worth it. Allen replied that it added 3
grams so I may have added 6. I sprayed the fuse with adhesive and
then formed the FG to the fuse. I cut the cloth large and applied it
down one side, around the bottom and up the other side. I left one
side long and ran strips across the top, overlapping the starting
side about ¼". After it was in position I used med. CA to wet it out.
The second layer I ran in the other direction. The fuse is now bullet
proof with not mach additional weight. I have an EPP foam nose that
helps absorb direct hits. I lost a battery the other day and it went
in hard on a side arm launch without any damage, except for the
servos being jarred loose. I would recommend glass for all new
pilots. I will gladly suffer the added weight to avoid the build fly,
build fly build fly syndrome.
