Bug HLG

Sorry Jim, the yahoo group doesn't allow attachments to be sent out.  You need to upload your pic to the photo section of the Bug group home page. 103 grams is great.  My Bug originally weighed 110 grams with the wing extended to 34" wingspan.  The next wing I build will be thinned. The problem with going to a drela airfoil is that they need leading edge sheeting to get the performance from the airfoil.  The light weight bug wing planform would have to be redesigned.  You would wind up with a Mimi.  Even with a builtup wing, the mimi's are coming in at around 5.5 ounces (160g). The second Bug weighed 103 grams. Both were built with cross tails rather than the original V-tails. I also added a 0.5 mm x 3.0 mm carbon strip on the front of the trailing edge and capped the ribs with 1.5 mm x 0.11 mm carbon top and bottom. The half ribs are extra and are plain balsa.
