mmmcerveza - I just finished a bug with a launch peg, and wanted to share a helpful hint on wing balancing - MOUNTING TACK. I keep a big wad of it in the tool box and at the field for adjustments / ballast - but 3M makes a good brand. It's a stretchy sticky and relatively heavy gum used to tack notes to walls, etc. - I spread about a gram of it out on the opposite wing tip and the bug is balanced. Hi, Sorry for the poor enlisgh, but iám dutch... I’ve build severall bug’s including extended wing version. Maybey the bug will fly straight with a little rudder adjustment, but you don’nt want a unballenst wing. While lanching speeds are very high and compensating will be hard. The differense (besides the cf peg) can accure do to different weight balsa. Yust put different planks of basa (same diameter) on a scale 1,5 mm can differ upp to 5 gram’s. I think its better to ballans the wing using a little lead at the tip. Iff some one got a different idea i’m happey to hear id beceause addin weight issn’t wat you wan’t. Hope you added the extra ribs to the opposite side too! Just add weight to the lighter wingtip 'til it balances. It shouldn't be much. You don't want to fly with any rudder deflection. It's a drag. -PJ ----- Original Message ----- From: mmmmmcerveza To: BugHLG@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, February 13, 2005 9:02 PM Subject: [BugHLG] Unbalanced wing question..Please Help Me Hello to all.. im building a Bug and i just finished building the wing...the problem is that is unbalanced..left side is heavier than the right side... i added the extra ribs and also extended the boom to the tip in the left wing to be able to side arm launch it..so this is the reason why the left wing is heavier..actually besides extending the bom, i added a little piece of CF rod perpendicular to the extended boom so i can hold it with my fingers...
