I just looked back some post's and found several post's (listed below) and some replies Off Topic. All went unchallenged. There could have been more. I saw nothing wrong with John's post. As he States. He has a bug so it wasn't off topic. If you hadn't kept replying, probably his and my post would have been all there was to it. I guess you should have replied to me as well. You still can as this post has nothing to do with a Bug. I can see your point. If this group get's swamped with people trying to promote other glider's, this group could be a mess. BUT, as slow as post's have been lately, what's the harm? Unless you want to reply to my post or kick me off. Let step back and take a breather. 434,415,422,425,426,368,369,357,367,312,328,279,284,287,288,289,303,220,195 ----- Original Message ----- From: <gldrgidr@...> To: <BugHLG@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Sunday, October 09, 2005 9:43 PM Subject: Re: [BugHLG] Re: RCM plans service > In the recent past there have been many people who have tried to use this group to promote things. In the recent past there have been many people who have tried to use this group to promote things. We've had mortgage companies, credit card companies, and drug distributers (mostly Viagra). This is a group for the building and flying of the Bug hlg. This is not a place to sell or promote anything else including other gliders. John, You obviously are enthusiastic about the QFII. Instead of trying to turn this into the QFII group why don't you setup a yahoo group for the QFII? It's very easy. Goto www.yahoo.com and click on Groups. For others interested in the QFII, Gambler+, DL50, Zephyr2, Boomer, Seeker, Swyft, Red Herring, Allula, etc. there are threads in the rcgroups in the Hand Launch Forum: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=96 This is the Bug group. We have a large archived information base about the Bug. Please let's keep the Bug group about the Bug. John And don't forget that the same percentages apply to the fact that the designer is, at minimum, 45-75 % more available on line for questions, and you can have plans at least 45-75 % faster by printing them off yourself. The QFII manual is infinitely more detailed for a first time builder; and the additional launch height and refinement of the design is of a similar magnitude. It is obvious that many people will continue to build and love The Bug. It is similar to the fact that many enjoy and fly the older designs like the Spirit. I have a Spirit, also, and really enjoy flying it. Would I build another? No. I can find better designs that have come to market and that I have become aware of. The QFII is about 45% larger and 75% heavier than the Bug. Your comparing apples and oranges. I for one appreciated the info on the QFII and if you had posted some place else I might have missed it. I've been kinda looking for something about that size to put a brushless outrunner on. Might be a good project. I like the price for the short kit. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Gospodarek" <john@...> To: <BugHLG@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Saturday, October 08, 2005 9:13 AM Subject: [BugHLG] Re: RCM plans service > John > > I agree that The Bug is fun and is not designed as a competition > plane. There are other higher performing hlg's and there are places on the net to promote them but this group is for those who want to build the Bug. Personally I have a Gambler, XP-3 poly and XP-3 aileron dlg. They are all better performing than the Bug but when I'm just flying for fun, I still like flying my four ounce Bug. The small size and light weight makes it unique. Last Saturday was an great day and I got a 12:37, a 12:13, and a 9:35 minute flight. My Gambler got me an easy 15 minute flight but the flights with the Bug were more of an accomplishment and more fun. The Bug will never be a competition hlg but it is fun combined with the fact that launching this light weight glider is a lot less stressful on my old body. I have built both The Bug and the QFII. The QFII is a better SAL/DLG plane. It is cheep, $15 for the short kit with the bad part of the work done (cutting the ribs). The plans are free on the web iIf you are a masochist and want to cut them yourself. Take a look at this link. Better air foil etc. http://www.laserarts.com/product_info.php?cPath=25_30&products_id=202 John P.S. you can find the plans from this link also.

I posted the question on RCGroups about the RCM plans availability. Good news. Looks like they will remain available. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=424828 John
