How about this one, http://www.cavemanrocketry.com/graupner-topsy-clone_pid1348.html (I hope to have some time to edit the discription tomorrow) It is a copy of the old Graupner Topsy, originaly flown with a .49 cox engine but it can also be powered with a small brusless engine. The kit is pretty easy to build and a builder with some experience can do it in a couple of evenings. I did it in a few weeks with only one hand. the drawings can be downloaded from the internet or can send a hard copy with the kit. succes janhein On 7/6/2012 1:48 AM, dfairchilds@... wrote: > > I'm a new guy. If you could get your hands on a great planes spirit glider I modified one yo take a .061 and you could speck it in 2 minutes and then thermal until your hearts content. Although this plane is on the beefy side of modern gliders it's a ton of fun and anyone can fly it On Jul 6, 2012 12:16 PM, "John Gallagher" <gldrgidr@...> wrote: > ** > > > The .049 was equivalent to the old speed 400 class in electrics. Hey, Old timer! (You have a year or two on me.) If you can find a kit for Southwest Sailplane's Baby Bowlus, this is a great sailplane for an .049 assist. Although a 6 foot wingspan, as I recall, the wing is all machined balsa and everything else is balsa, as well. Only the fuselage is to be built of balsa sheet. Terrific flier! I shredded mine through a repeater tower on final approach some 30 years ago. She was loaded down with a 7 cell nicad pack and an early .049 electric motor, so had enough mass to shred with gusto!
