Richard - Never done that, but I've wondered, so I think that sounds like something worthwhile before the spring. Motocalc didn't mind the following combination, assuming the weight without the motor or the battery / esc is around 3 oz. I used the wing area from the plans, no extensions, etc. GWS DX2BB Geared 3.5:1 spinning a 7x6 prop (i'd like to find a folding prop that fit that motor) GWS ICS ESC (.17) oz A RadioShack 8.4V 150 mAh nimh cell (about 1 oz) That theoretically gives hands off level flight speeds of 15 - 20 MPH, and run times at around 10 minutes given 75% throttle. I haven't graduated to Li-Poly yet. That's about 4.5 oz wing loading with the motor. I may give it a try (on my third bug after the one in progress). I suspect a wider / deeper POD would be helpful for the motorized version. Thanks for posting that link - very nice.
