I use silicone to make a hinge.
Bevel the edges of the tailp plane and elevator.
Hold the tail plane and elevator together at the un-bevelled side
with masking tape or sellotape.
Turn over and run a thing strip of silicone in the bevelled groove.
Run your finger in the groove to remove excess silicone. You want to
leave a very thin layer.
Scrape off any overflow on the wooden surfaces with an old credit
card or something similar.
Allow to set.
You should end up with a thin flexible hinge.
