John- Nice job on updating the traditional plan- I like it. In Carl's article on building the Bug, he calls for 1/8" balsa at the W1 wing root ribs. This is usually omitted in the plans I've seen floating around, but you may want to draw it into yours. I actually prefer 3/32 or 1/4 for added strength and not much weight gain at that point, but 1/8 will do the job OK.
