Not sure how you got the guides off your rod Rick, but the best way is to
heat up the epoxy around the guide foot, and cut through the thread where
the metal part of the guide foot is. That way you won't damage the blank,
and when heated up the epoxy goes really soft.
Spent many an hour stripping down fishing rods. My other time waster-yep,
fishing and all that goes along with it.
