What would be the fun in that??? ;o) Seriously, scratch building is a great way to burn off stress from work. Besides, for less than $15 I can have a complete airframe for a plane this size. I've enjoyed this little plane more than anything else I've had my hands on and want to stick with it. I had the club field all to myself this weekend. A beautiful sunny day (go figure for Seattle). I'm surprised that no one else was out there. I built one half of the wing (AG 36, about 7.75" root chord) and shaped the new tail feathers this weekend. Building materials lend themselves to a 48" span and that goes well with the Avia spar I have for a boom. I'm likely to go with a balsa pod to keep from having to carve a new pod mold. I'll post some pictures when it's done. You might add a T or X tail and replace the balsa pod with a little nipper pod like your bugger - instant Bugger 2. > Kits are $60 and the plans are $16. > http://www.wrightbrothersrc.com/our_kits/gambler_plans.htm > You can even download the building instructions and see how it's built. > > John

Hi Chris, The standard Bug wing center chord is already 7". You probably already know that when you increase the wingspan that much, you're talking about redesigning the whole glider. Someone else already did this. Why not get a Gambler? You might add a T or X tail and replace the balsa pod with a little nipper pod like your bugger - instant Bugger 2. Kits are $60 and the plans are $16. http://www.wrightbrothersrc.com/our_kits/gambler_plans.htm You can even download the building instructions and see how it's built. My question - How wide of a root chord can I expand up to? I'm thinking 48-54" wing span. Can I go to 7-8" on the root chord? I'm planning on upsizing my Lil' Bugger that's based on the Bug wing. My question - How wide of a root chord can I expand up to? I'm thinking 48-54" wing span. Can I go to 7-8" on the root chord? Thanks, Chris in Seattle
